October 26, 2012 Miami, FL – At noon on November 8, 2012, Hennes & Mauritz H&M AB will open its doors to fashionistas in the newly renovated Lincoln Theater along Lincoln Road to serve the South Florida markets.  This expansion will continue as the brand opens another store at the Aventura Mall in the following month.

Revenue for both Miami Beach and Aventura Mall is deemed to be promising after successfully running an H&M pop-up for from June to September 2012 in the former location.  This served as a test market and the same time, as a tool to excite Miami’s fashionistas prior to the formal launch of the stores.  The Miami Beach store will be the first store to be opened in the city and is considered as one of the five existing flagship stores of H&M.  “We hope that’s a preview of what will happen when we open the flagship store,” said Marybeth Schmitt, spokeswoman for H&M in North America. “The pop-up store was a huge success. It seems like we have a lot of fans. We know Miami is the right market.”

Currently, there are only seven stores in Florida and the closest being the one located in Palm Beach Gardens.  Despite the aggressive expansion of H&M in the United States, the retailer has been very careful in increasing the number of retail stores in the south.  “We were waiting to find the right space,” Schmitt said. “The Lincoln Theatre is an incredible space and being able to recreate this iconic, historic building in Miami is perfect for us.”

At the Miami Beach’s opening day,  the store will have extended hours from noon until midnight and the first 500 shoppers in line will receive discount cards ranging from $10 to $500.  Throughout the launch day, various giveaways will be given to H&M’s patrons.
